In Memoriam
It is with great sadness that the Group for Solicitors with Disabilities announce the death of Sir John Wall, our Honorary Secretary for many years and a founding member of the Group.
John died peacefully at home on Monday 1 December 2008. His funeral took place on Thursday 11 December. He will be sorely missed.
The Judicial Work Shadowing Scheme
The scheme gives legal practitioners (solicitors, barristers, legal executives, patent and trade mark attorneys) in England and Wales the opportunity to spend up to three days observing the work of judges, both in and out of court

Training Contract Grants Scheme 2008
The Legal Services Commission has announced that all 150 grants available under the 2008 Training Contract Grants Scheme have now been awarded to solicitor firms and Not for Profit organisations across England and Wales.
Each grant represents a commitment to support a student/trainee and an organisation for up to 4 years, through the LPC and training contract.

If you are interested in a training contract with one of the organisations who has been given an LSC grant, please contact the organisation directly. You will need to go through their internal recruitment process. You cannot apply via the LSC. Organisations have until 30 January 2009 to recruit a trainee.
